This is the first year that mandatory license renewal is in effect for you. What does that mean, you might ask yourself? Mandatory license renewal just means that you have to show proof of compliance with the Florida Department of Health at the time of renewal. If you are not 100% compliant, you will not be able to renew your license and will be redirected to CE Broker to report any missing hours. You don’t want surprises when you renew your license, so continue reading to learn more about your CE requirements!
As a Physical Therapist, you are required to complete 24 hours each biennium. You must complete 22 hours of General Hours and 2 hours of Medical Errors every biennium.

What if this is my first renewal?
If you were issued in the second half of the biennium, you are exempt from the renewal requirements with the exception of 2 hours of Prevention of Medical Errors and 1 hour of HIV/AIDS.
Keep in mind that HIV/AIDS courses required for first renewals are accepted if approved by any Board within the Division of Medical Quality Assurance.
