CE Broker Business Continuity During COVID-19

As the COVID-19 pandemic and the situation here in the United States continues to evolve, we are taking measures to ensure the health and safety of our staff while continuing to support the needs of those we serve.

Because our partners are on the front line of this pandemic, it is our goal and responsibility to maintain the high level of service we deliver to your team and organization.

Here’s how we plan to do that.

A remote workforce: For nearly a decade, CE Broker has embraced remote work as an important characteristic of its ‘live balanced’ core value. We have enacted a remote work policy for our Jacksonville and Boulder offices. Because of our history of remote work, our teams are prepared to continue with their duties and respond to any new local, state, or federal guidelines.

Role redundancies and geographically diverse staff: For some time, CE Broker has instituted a staffing strategy that includes redundancies in all positions, including geographic redundancy.

This paves the way for operations to continue at normal service levels in the event a staff member is unable to perform their functions.

Our Partner Success, Implementation, Sales and Marketing, Quality Assurance, Support and Management/Leadership duties are all carried out by redundant teams, giving you peace of mind that we’re here to support you during this unprecedented time.

Furthermore, tools are in place to ensure transparency and visibility into the work of our staff. In the event a staff member designated to your organization is unable to work, our team has the ability to review a robust and comprehensive account of historical transactions/communications, meeting notes, account details, and more.

Highly available data hosting: CE Broker’s systems are hosted redundantly throughout locations geographically dispersed across the US. Our teams have access to our software securely from anywhere.

Employee health and safety: As the situation continued to progress over the past few weeks, CE Broker made our staff’s health and wellness its top priority, instituting mandatory remote work for individuals who have traveled to high risk areas, in alignment with recommendations from the CDC, enhancing sanitation protocols in our offices, canceling all non-essential work travel, and more.

Our top priority will always be the safety of our employees, and regardless of our transition to a fully-remote workforce, we will continue to support our team and stay focused on the health and safety of the communities we are honored to serve.

We at CE Broker are monitoring the situation closely and plan to take the necessary steps to continue serving your team at full capacity without compromising the safety of our staff in accordance with local, state, and federal recommendations.

Be well.

Using the freemium model to improve CE tracking

CEB-Blog-Freemium-MAt CE Broker, we work with state licensing boards and healthcare professionals to track continuing education. Because we work with government agencies, we have to operate differently than other software as a service (SaaS) companies. This is where our freemium business model comes in.

A freemium business model is defined as a company that offers both free and paid account options. The practice of this business model can vary, but at CE Broker, we use this model to provide a free account to any licensee who needs one.

In fact, our goal for growth is to get as many free users tracking their CE with us as possible. As CEO of Evernote said, “The easiest way to get 1 million people paying, is to get 1 billion people using.”

In order to make the freemium model work for CE Broker and its users, there are three priorities we continually focus on:

A comprehensive free service.

The freemium model allows us to be absolutely cost-free to boards and licensees.  We continually improve our product and maintain the expectation that most will use it for free.

Support that defines the experience.

We believe that great customer service makes or breaks a SaaS company.  In a complex industry like licensure, offering help is critical. The small percentage who choose to subscribe to our upgraded services allow us to provide phone, chat, and email support to all of our users.

Above and beyond upgrades.

Because we give away some of our best and most helpful tools, our upgraded account options have to be stellar. Our upgraded accounts automate and simplify CE tracking and improvement of those tools is a constant endeavor.

Working with government agencies in a complex field is not right for every SaaS company. In CE Broker’s case, the freemium model has been invaluable to our success.

What is a fully-hosted application?

There are many reasons why CE Broker is the best at what we do; from our email communication system that maximizes licensee compliance, to our helpful support center. But one of the main reasons CE Broker is the simplest tool to track course completions and perform audits is because we are a fully-hosted application.

The definition of a fully-hosted application is one hosted and powered from remote cloud infrastructure and is accessed globally through the Internet.  Information is available all of the time through a single point of access.

But what does our fully-hosted application mean for boards and providers?

  • Makes it simple for providers and licensees to enter and track course completions. A licensee can log in to their account and see their complete course history at the click of a button. Because the information is so simple to input, boards are more likely to get full and accurate information.
  • Ensures that information is always available. One of the most stressful parts of tracking course completions and auditing licensees is all of the paperwork. Creating it, filing it, finding it when necessary – it can get very difficult to maintain. Regulating boards, providers, and licensees can access licensee information quickly and easily through CE Broker.
  • Makes auditing a one-click process. The days of shuffling piles of paperwork around to confirm that a licensee has completed their renewal requirements are over! Because all course completions are reported to CE Broker, the information is compiled and ready to be confirmed by regulating boards.
  • Ensures that boards will never have to perform system maintenance. We invest a lot of time, resources, and effort into maintaining our website. We have team members working around the clock to make sure that this fully-hosted system is working for you consistently and effectively.

With CE Broker’s fully-hosted system, all the information you need is always at your fingertips. To learn more about our comprehensive compliance tracking system, check out our features page.

CE Broker is partnering with the South Carolina Board of Nursing!

blog photo header

CE Broker is excited to announce our new partnership with the South Carolina Board of Nursing! As a continuing education management system with over 13 years experience, CE Broker is well-equipped and eager to help Nursing professionals in South Carolina track progress and simplify the license renewal process.

In a no-cost contract, the license renewal process will be easier for everyone. From the board level, to education providers, to Nursing professionals. CE Broker provides instant peace of mind for the licensee and a streamlined process for the board.

With CE Broker, education providers and licensees will be entering CE course completions and exemptions electronically through the tracking system and will receive confirmation when they are complete. The board can then instantly verify that all CE requirements have been met. The result?  Happier licensees and higher rates of compliance.

“Turbo Tax has simplified filing taxes for millions of people each year,  making a complex task effortless. We are doing the same thing for continuing education,” says Brian Solano, CE Broker’s CEO. “You can choose to do your taxes on your own, but why do that when there are so many great inexpensive services out there that make it easy?”

Because healthcare professionals have many other things to do in everyday life, CE Broker offers free iPhone and Android apps that licensees use to see their requirements, check their CE Compliance status, and report continuing education hours. CE Broker has made compliance mobile.

CE Broker also employs a full-time support center available via phone, live chat, and email to help licensees report their hours on time.

All of this is provided at no cost to the State. The company funds their operations by offering voluntary subscription services to employers & licensees.

CE Broker was founded in 2003 to track continuing education for the Florida Department of Health and now works with boards all across the United States.

Attention North Carolina Respiratory Care Professionals!

ncsrc-logo

CE Broker is the official CE compliance system for many boards, and the North Carolina Reparatory Care Board is one of them. That means that CE Broker is at your disposal to make tracking your renewal requirements as easy as possible!

CE Broker also goes beyond partnering with Boards. We work with professional associations like the North Carolina Society of Respiratory Care to get to the heart of what really matters to Respiratory Therapy professionals.

The NCSRC has negotiated a $5 discount to CE Broker Professional Accounts. This gives you access to a Compliance Transcript which automatically calculates any renewal requirements you have left to complete. This takes the confusion out of continuing education and puts the focus back where is belongs: on learning.

If you are currently a member of the NCSRC, email ncsrc@ncsrc.org to get your professional discount code.

If you are not a member, you can learn more about the North Carolina society for Respiratory Care here.

What’s your specialty/expertise as a CE Expert? Calm patient demeanor, and openness to being a student of life, and career. I also explain things very well or quite clear compared to most to eliminate as much misunderstanding as possible.
