The Free Trial offer creates a temporary full access account for healthcare professionals in the CE Broker continuing education system. With the Free Trial account, you can view the same records that the Florida Department of Health uses when it conducts its audits. If you are not certain which continuing education credits you still have not yet fulfilled and your license expiration deadline is approaching, the Free Trial can give you the information that you need to become compliant. The transcript displayed in your account is configured specially for you with respect to your profession, your specialties, and the number of license cycles that you have already completed. The Free Trial is a one-time offer.
To start your own Free Trial, go to CEBroker.com and click “Get Started” on the homepage. Then you’ll select your region, enter your license number, and complete the setup process.
CE Broker requires that you enter a valid credit card in order to set up your Free Trial but it will NOT be charged until the day after the Free Trial ends. You have seven days to cancel the trial and you will receive an email reminding you to cancel if you are not satisfied with the service. You can cancel the Free Trial from within your account or call the Helpdesk at 1-877-434-6323.
CE Broker gives you the tools you need to stay on top of your continuing education. The DOH audit can be a painful process and is often accompanied with punitive fees and extra CE requirements. CE Broker published a free iPhone app in August, 2010 for all healthcare professionals in Florida. Here we will explain some of the app’s features so you can benefit from everything that it has to offer. You can download the app for free at the Apple app store or at iTunes, and it is also available for the iPad and iPod Touch.
When you open the app, it will prompt you to enter your license number and you’ll be asked to confirm your identity.
Once logged in, the app will display your current CE compliance status. If you see, “Complete,” then you have already fulfilled your continuing education requirements for the current license cycle. This is a useful feature that you should check frequently as your license expiration date approaches.
If your compliance status reads, “Not Complete,” then you will benefit from the rest of the app’s features. Click “Transcript” and the app will prompt you to enter your license number as well as your unique password. You must have a subscription to CE Broker in order to access your transcript. Once an account is setup, you can login and view your personal continuing education transcript. Here the screen displays your expiration date and your profession-specific requirements. Your transcript should reflect any courses that you have already completed. If you believe that credits for course completions are missing from your transcript, there are a couple of possible explanations. To find courses that fulfill your requirements, the CE Broker app includes a Course Search, featuring over 5,000 approved educational providers. Click “Search” at the bottom of the app and select the subject area that you still need to fulfill your CE requirements.
When browsing the results of your search, you can click on the course for more information. Here you will find the phone number and website of the provider offering that course. You can also choose to email the course information to yourself so you can review the course later. CE Broker does not require that you have a subscription to use the official course search; it is available to all.
If you wish to view courses that you have completed in the past click “History” at the bottom of the app. Perhaps you enjoyed a course by a particular provider but don’t remember the provider’s name. This is when you would view your course history.
Again, the course search is free to all healthcare professionals but subscriptions are required to view your official transcripts and your course history. It costs $35 per license cycle to subscribe, but CE Broker also offers a one-time 7-day free trial. Click here for more information.
If you successfully completed a continuing education course but it has not yet been recorded on your CE Broker transcript yet, there are a couple of possible explanations.
Most commonly, the educational provider with whom you took the course simply has not submitted it to CE Broker yet. The Florida Department of Health allows up to 90 days for an educational provider to submit a course to CE Broker. Sometimes educational providers report almost immediately. Others can take up to three months. If you found the course through the CE Broker course search, the provider of that course is required by the Florida Department of Health to report course completions to CE Broker. If this is the case and the course completion has not been submitted after 90 days, you should contact the educational provider directly.
Remember: you did not take the course with CE Broker, but you probably used the course search to find an approved educational provider.

If you took a course with an educational provider not listed in CE Broker you would report the CE credits yourself. If you have subscribed to CE Broker, go to cebroker.com, login to your account, and click “Things to Set/Submit” at the top of the page and select “Report Continuing Education” in the drop down menu. There are a variety of options for self-reporting. Select the one that applies to what you wish to report and follow the steps.
If you do not have a CE Broker subscription you can create a reporting account for free and report course completions. Click “Healthcare Professionals” on cebroker.com and select “Report Continuing Education” at the bottom of the screen. This will prompt you to enter your license number and then create a login and password. Then follow the steps to report continuing education.
